CODE OF CONDUCT

This policy is a “living” document, and subject to refinement and expansion in the future. Last updated March 11, 2021.

Everyone participating in pointA’s Remote Work Strategy Course—including, but not limited to the sessions and community groups —is required to agree to the following Code of Conduct. This includes all students and volunteers. pointA is dedicated to creating and providing a safe and inclusive space for all students during the course dates. We uphold the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as well as the Ontario Human Rights Code.  In order to help achieve this, all students and pointA staff must:

  • Respect and comply with all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws;

  • Demonstrate respect of differences in people, their ideas, their opinions, and their rights, and refrain from all forms of harassment;

  • Follow any instructions and rules outlined by pointA staff and volunteers;

  • Complete all assigned homework and activities to the best of your ability and on time;

  • Participate in all of the course activities including any evaluation and survey activities that are integral to pointA’s fulfilment of its funding requirements as outlined by the Future Skills Centre (funder);

  • Report any incidents of violations of this code of conduct and any applicable laws and regulations;

  • Students also agree to use the course materials to help them develop their remote work strategy and not duplicate or use course materials to make their own course

Records and record keeping

All information entered and provided to pointA in any format throughout the course will be kept and stored in secure online locations. These records may be accessed and used to investigate any reports of violation of this code of conduct and in accordance with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations

Should a student be found to be in violation of this code of conduct or any applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws, pointA may deem to take appropriate action including expulsion from the course and further escalations as legally required.
