We envision sustainable transportation options for everyone.
Our mission
Our goal is to connect people to the places they want to go.
We aim to give people options to get to the places they want to go in a way that benefits the environment, the economy and the well-being of our communities.
In collaboration with our funders, members and partners, we facilitate transportation demand management programs, and advocate for sustainable transportation.
OUR STORY
Established in 2001, we were the first Transportation Management Association (TMA) in Ontario. We formed with the mission of reducing the number of people driving alone to work in the north Toronto and Vaughan area.
In 2005, our program expanded with the formation of the Smart Commute Association which brought together several TMAs to deliver the Smart Commute program, which encourages sustainable transportation at workplaces. Today, the Smart Commute program is delivered to over 340 workplaces across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Over our nearly 20 year history, we have worked with hundreds of large businesses and organizations.
In 2018, we changed our name from Smart Commute – North Toronto, Vaughan to pointA to mark the next step in our organization’s journey. In addition to delivering the Smart Commute program in north Toronto and Vaughan, we offer a range of other services to help organizations achieve their sustainability goals.
