FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 29, 2026

Toronto, Ontario — pointA is pleased to announce that 10 organizations in Canada have been named as a Best Workplace for Commuters® (BWC™), a North American designation recognizing employers that lead the way in offering innovative and impactful commuter benefits. These organizations join over 800 organizations across North America committed to helping employees commute smarter, save money, and improve quality of life.

Started in 1999 in the United States by the Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Transportation and expanded to Canada in 2024 by pointA, BWC™ recognizes organizations that are dedicated to investing in programs that reduce commuting stress, expand transportation choices, and support both employee well-being and broader community goals.

These 10 organizations collectively offer outstanding commuter benefits such as carpool ride matching, enhanced transit connections, onsite amenities, remote work options, and for organizations  based on the Greater Toronto Area, membership in the Smart Commute program. Together, they support over 84,000 employees, tenants, and students across 27 locations.

“We are delighted to recognize the organizations across Canada receiving the BWC designation that are committed to supporting sustainable, affordable, and healthier commuting,” said Dorinda So, Executive Director at pointA. “This dedication through a tangible investment in programs like the Smart Commute program is especially vital to helping employees get to and from work as more people return to in-office work. We believe in investing in people, so that they can find more sustainable, affordable, and healthier options to get to/from work and other places they want to go.”

To receive this prestigious designation in Canada, employers work with pointA to implement sustainable commuting programs and submit an application demonstrating they meet the BWC National Standard of Excellence.

The following is the list of the 2026 BWC Canada organizations:

  • Amgen, Burnaby, BC
  • City of Toronto, Toronto, ON
  • Intuit, Toronto, ON, Edmonton, AB
  • North York General Hospital, Toronto, ON

“We are proud to recognize the organizations in Canada as 2026 BWC designees,” said Julie Bond, BWC™ Program Director. “These organizations understand that commuter benefits are no longer a perk—they are a strategic investment in employees, communities, and long-term success.”
